The 1994 Honda Del Sol of Newsletters
Or Why Am I Here?
I think the important question that needs to be addressed right off the bat is, why am I here? Any guesses? How about suggestions, then?
I suppose it's a question most people getting this far would have an answer to already. I am not one of those people.
Am I here for the money and the fame? I could use money, but I don't really care for the spotlight.
Perhaps it's for the women? Well, we all know about those hordes of voracious, salacious Substack groupies. However, I am happily married and no longer in my twenties.
Maybe I just need a place to say what I can't say in my day-to-day life? Nope, I have almost no filter and am too familiar far too fast.
If I really press myself, I think I just have a strong desire to yell into the void and hope the void listens. Hell, the void can even yell back if it wants. I am not picky when it comes to my voids, but remember I'm no longer in my twenties, and I'm allergic to penicillin.
I also have a lot of somewhat to very niche interests that I would like to get my thoughts out on. These include, but are certainly (and unfortunately for you) not limited to:
Professional wrestling (with a focus on AEW)
Films from well before I was born
World history
Talking about my glory days (which were not that glorious in almost any way)
A touch of philosophy
Other things no one cares about
This brings you back into the picture, my beautiful, bouncing baby void. I can't promise you that I know how to drive this car, where we are going, or where the hell I put those damn keys. I can only promise you that this newsletter will be the equivalent of a 1994 Honda Del Sol; impractical as hell and way more expensive than you could possibly imagine. So buckle up one of the two seatbelts, and let's put this hard top roof into the trunk where it belongs. (If you're one of the 10 people in the world still alive who can understand that joke then you're my people.)
Before I go, Substack mentioned that I should let you know my goals for my posting frequency. Since I will do literally anything Substack tells me, let's go with, I don't know, once a week with a potential for more?
Hit me up in the comments if you want to chat, but let's be real, no one is even here to read this yet. Oh God, the void is closing in.

Enjoy the ride!
Can't wait!! It's sure to be interesting...
